The goal of this training is to provide an overview of trauma informed care and its applications within a harm reduction approach in psychotherapy. Focus will be placed on working with young adults based on best practices and ethics according to current research. Participants will engage in small group vignettes to apply models presented in this training within their own work setting.
Training Objectives
- Define and discuss applications of trauma informed care and harm reduction in psychotherapy.
- Describe and analyze current research on the ethical practice of trauma informed care, harm reduction and substance use disorders for emerging adults.
- Assess and apply trauma informed practices when working with emerging adults with substance use disorders.
