Screenwriter, comedian, and actor from American High Shorts, Luke Burke, is joining us for a deep dive into the world of comedy writing. A writing assistant to Jeremy Garelick on projects including our latest Rolling Loud and a member of the original American High Shorts team, Luke has crafted stories that blend sharp humor with cinematic storytelling. On the other side of the camera, Luke has acted in a variety of shorts and features spanning genres from drama to comedy, including a recent Sundance Award-winner, Plainclothes. In this interactive workshop, he’ll break down how to structure comedic scenes, create unforgettable characters, and write jokes that land — whether for film, TV, or digital media. Any aspiring comedy writers looking to sharpen their skills and bring their funniest ideas to life on screen should come join the discussion!
