Student engagement is one of the core pillars of Universal Design for Learning. This workshop will explore engagement strategies, and highlight why student engagement should be at the top of the list for any educator!
Content Covered:
Multiple Means of Engagement: This principle emphasizes providing various ways to motivate and engage students. It includes offering choices, fostering collaboration, and encouraging self-assessment.
Relevance and Value: Making learning relevant to students' lives and interests is crucial. This can be achieved by connecting lessons to real-world applications and personal goals.
Sustaining Effort and Persistence: Strategies to help students stay motivated and invested in classroom and curriculum.
What You Will Learn:

Students will discuss engagement strategies that can be used in the classroom.

Students will evaluate which engagement strategies they believe are most effective.

Students will observe 30+ engagement strategies during the presentation.
